Easy Boho Puff Stitch Baby Beanie Crochet Tutorial (0-3 Months)

Hello everybody!

You are here to see what I am up to, right? I made a puff stitch baby beanie! Puff stitches are a quick way to create an incredibly interesting, squishy texture.

I was looking on Amazon for cotton yarn, and these colours looked so pretty. They are Caron All Day Cotton, and it is an absolute pleasure to crochet with it. Playing up with the yarn and my 4.5 mm hook, I came up with the idea for this boho-style baby beanie.

Most people loved my granny stitch beanie on YouTube (if you wish to see that one, it is here). So, I knew I had to share this new design with you all!

Let me tell you, if you are in a hurry and need to make a quick baby shower gift for a 0 to 3-month-old, just follow the pattern in the video below. You will be finished within an hour!

Even if you are a beginner, this is super easy to pick up. Here is what we cover in the tutorial:

  • Mastering the Puff: I will show you exactly how to loosely pull up your loops to create those perfect, plush little stitches.

  • The Ribbed Edging: We finish the brim with a clever trick that gives it a snug, stretchy, knit-like fit to keep the baby's head warm.

  • Bonus Colour Trick: Stick around to the end of the video! I included a secret for making a striped beanie using two colours without having to cut your yarn every single round.
