Earl Bles park of toronto

Earl Bales Park is on Sheppard Avenue.

Even though I've lived in Toronto for almost 25 years, I had never been there before. I only heard this year that it is a beautiful park.

So my husband and I decided to go for a walk.

It is a peaceful place in the middle of the city. There are walking and hiking trails, and in winter, the steep hills are used for skiing.

The park also has a Holocaust Memorial Garden. It is beautifully maintained.

Reading the stories of the survivors who came to Canada was very moving. Their names are displayed in the garden, along with stories about the hardships they endured—having to carry passports marked with the letter "J," being forced into labour, and the suffering they experienced.

Here are a few photos from our visit.
