Designing Seamless Granny Stitch fingerless Mittens

Designing One-Piece Seamless Granny Stitch Mittens

I showed you the Granny beanie in the previous post. Then I really wanted to create a granny stitch fingerless glove to match it!

It took some time to figure out how I wanted it. I did not want to stitch two pieces together because sewing seams can make fingerless gloves feel bulky and uncomfortable to wear. It had to be worked in one piece from the cuff up.

After a lot of trial and error, it became a reality! This pattern is worked completely in the round, allowing the classic granny stitch clusters to flow smoothly without any disruptive seams. It is a fantastic stash-buster project and makes for a wonderful quick weekend crochet gift.

Pattern Details & Crochet Materials

Before diving into the video tutorial below, gather your supplies and review the project layout:

Yarn Requirements: Small amount of size 4 medium-weight yarn (acrylic works best for stretch and warmth).

Crochet Hook Size: 4.5 mm or 5.0 mm hook to match the tension of your Granny Beanie.

Other Tools: A tapestry needle to weave in your starting and ending yarn tails, sharp scissors, and a couple of stitch markers.

Sizing Tip: You can easily customize the length of the wrist cuff or the hand section by adding or subtracting rows of the basic granny stitch pattern.

Quick Stitch Guide

To follow along with this seamless glove pattern, you will need to know these basic crochet stitches:

Chain (CH): The foundation of your project.

Double Crochet (DC): The building block stitch used to create your clusters.

Slip Stitch (SL ST): Used to join your rounds seamlessly without cutting the yarn.

Granny Cluster: A grouping of 3 Double Crochet stitches worked into a single chain space.
